Networks Connect is seeking a Senior DGR Inpatient Coder that will work remotely. Are you an experienced DRG Specialist with a passion for medical coding, DRG validation, and inpatient auditing? We are seeking a Senior DRG Inpatient Coder (DRG Coordinator) on the behalf of our client who is highly regarded, Level 1 Trauma, hospital organization. This full-time role involves performing DRG validation (clinical/coding) reviews, ensuring accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, and validating MS-DRG/APR-DRG assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed audits of medical record documentation to ensure accurate principal and secondary diagnosis coding (including MCC & CC) and procedure codes.
- Ensure compliance with official coding guidelines, coding clinics, and regulatory mandates.
- Apply advanced ICD-10 coding expertise and clinical knowledge to validate DRG assignments.
- Utilize HMS proprietary auditing systems efficiently to document determinations and appeals.
- Maintain high productivity and quality performance standards.
- Provide training, mentoring, and feedback to new Coders or DRG Coordinators.
- Stay up to date with coding guidelines, policies, and regulatory changes, ensuring compliance with RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential requirements.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance industry knowledge and skills.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Business or Health-related field preferred.
- Certifications: RHIA, RHIT, or CCS required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive coding experience in an acute care setting, with strong expertise in MS-DRG/APR-DRG validation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet browsers, and virtual meeting tools (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.).
- Experience with 3M/computer-assisted coding software and Meditech (preferred).
