Retirement Plans Analyst/Administrator (Remote)
Job Description
Networks Connect is hiring for a Retirement Plans Analyst/Administrator that will work remotely. The Defined Contribution Plan Analyst or Defined Benefit Plan Analyst is responsible for all testing and service on assigned client’s plans. This includes but is not limited to the setup and maintenance of all retirement plan specifications and census information, annual compliance testing, preparation of required forms and fielding questions from client contacts. This position works under general supervision exercising a great deal of initiative and independent judgement in the performance of any assigned tasks. In this role both technical and project management skills are utilized.
Our client provides the proper candidate with the ability to work remote while being connected to the rest of the team. Provides the opportunity for client management and direct client contact. They provide creative plan designs for small businesses, unique relationship with senior tax CPA’s who help provide creative solutions specific to the business, opportunities for growth and advancement in a growing firm.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and review of plan specification for retirement administration clients from plan documents, summary plan descriptions and proposal calculations
- Identify and load essential data for plan conversions and annual administration & testing.
- Prepare annual compliance tests and instruct client on necessary corrective actions.
- Prepare annual 5500 returns as well as any related schedules or Form 5330 for plan corrections.
- Prepare and or review participant distributions forms for client plans.
- Assist auditors by providing reports and documents for large plan audits.
- Act as liaison with actuary or Defined Benefit team on any combined plan designs
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work in collaborative team environment and individually.
- Excellent analytical capabilities with great attention to detail.
- Ability to solve problems efficiently while being innovative and creative.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office suite (word and excel).
- Excellent Organization skills, with the ability to multi task and track multiple tasks and issues, set and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic Project Management skills.
- Willingness and flexibility to work additional hours to finish projects during peak seasons.
- Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) or Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation from the American Society of Pension Actuaries (ASPPA) or similar level of certification or testing achieved in National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA) or willingness to pursue ASPPA exams
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with focus in Accounting or Mathematics a plus.
- Defined Contribution administration experience (two years or more) preferred.
- Defined Benefit experience a plus.
Earnings
$75,000 - $85,000 salary
