Plan Compliance Analyst/Administrator

Job Description

Our client is a growing financial services company, and we’re searching for an experienced Retirement Plan Administrator. This role is a associate level position within the Third-Party Administration Department. Each associate works directly with a manager to learn aspects of retirement plan administration, compliance, and accounting.

Duties

  • Maintain client accounts
  • Advanced client communication and inquiries (corrections, control group, RMD, compliance testing)
  • Educate clients regarding Employee and Employer contributions
  • Consult regarding exit strategy and facilitate plan termination process
  • Facilitate additional investments
  • Educate employer about responsibility to the 401(k) and employees (i.e., enrolling)
  • Document all plan transactions during the year (loans, distributions, rollovers, contributions)
  • Prepares all required and optional plan amendments and restatements
  • Perform year-end review of client data
  • Prepare plan financials and 5500 with all schedules
  • Perform compliance testing
  • Determine eligible employees based on census and plan document eligibility parameters
  • Invite clients to sign 5500 and follow up as needed
  • Communicate with accountants/CPAs regarding their clients’ ROBS plans
  • Provide training to staff as needed
  • Other Projects as Needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Advanced typing and data entry skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Works well in a high-volume production environment
  • Excellent customer service skills with high attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented
  • 3+ years retirement plan industry experience
  • ASPPA / QKA credentials is a plus

License / Certification

  • ASPPA/QKA (Plus - not required)
