Networks Connect Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Director, Cardiac Catheterization Lab to lead our client’s team in Nursing Administration. This pivotal role offers 24/7 responsibility for the operation and function of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, focusing on patient-centered care and operational excellence.
As the Director, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, you will be accountable for managing clinical practice and patient care delivery, overseeing human, fiscal, and other resources, and fostering professional development within your team. You will ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards, contribute to strategic planning, and build collaborative relationships across the hospital. This role demands a patient advocate who ensures all patient needs—physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional—are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate overall operations within the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, adhering to hospital policies, nursing standards, and governmental regulations.
- Prioritize patient and family-focused care, striving for the highest levels of quality and satisfaction.
- Provide administrative and financial oversight, including planning, directing, staffing, coordinating, and controlling functions.
- Align departmental goals with the organization’s strategic plans and champion value-adding initiatives.
- Manage and meet financial performance targets, control departmental spending, and monitor budgets.
- Oversee daily staffing efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies like OSHA, DCF, TJC, EEOC, CDC, and ACHA.
- Ensure all unit activities are safe, efficient, and effective for patients, families, and staff.
- Handle various personnel actions, including hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Adapt to the evolving healthcare environment and help staff navigate change.
- Maintain high service levels for patients, families, visitors, and physicians, promptly addressing complaints.
- Utilize performance management expertise to achieve department goals and hold staff accountable to policies.
- Initiate and implement policies and procedures to ensure adherence to care and service standards.
- Promote a professional practice model that encourages staff participation in clinical standard development.
- Communicate and support the mission of the Nursing Department and the organization.
- Serve as the collective voice for unit staff to administration and as a staff and patient advocate.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or other Healthcare related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Licensure/Certifications:
- RN, RTR, or Registered CVT required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required.
- RCIS preferred if Registered Nurse is professional licensure.
- Other certifications/qualifications may be required based on unit/specialty.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of cardiac catheterization laboratory experience required.
- Skills: Analytical, motivational, strategic planning skills, and intermediate computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows).
- Physical & Emotional Requirements: Ability to perform repetitive tasks, reach above shoulder level, cope with high stress, make fast decisions under pressure, demonstrate patience, work in close/crowded areas, grip, bend, squat, concentrate, and cope with anger/fear/hostility in a calm manner.
Compensation: $113,000 – 149,000 annually
