Job Type
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and patient information accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms, ensuring appropriate supplies and equipment are available.

- Collect laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory testing as required.
- Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and health maintenance.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Assist with insurance verification, authorization requests, and completion of medical forms.
- Support medical coding and billing processes as needed.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification (do not need to be certified if you have experience)
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program.
- Previous experience in an outpatient clinic, primary care, or pediatric setting.
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing processes
- Experience supporting specialized patient populations, including geriatric or pediatric patients.
