Radiology/CT Technologist

Job Description

Networks Connect is seeking a Radiology/CT Technologist that will work in person. Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. Verifies patient identity and reviews patient’s medical record for appropriateness of exam or procedure. Interviews patient to obtain, verify or update medical history and assesses risk factors such as medications, pregnancy and/or psychological indicators. Explains procedure to patient, including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives and follow-up. Sets up equipment and acquires appropriate images as per script. Reviews images, makes initial observations, documents exceptions from established protocols and communicates data to radiologist. Recognizes and responds to medical emergencies as appropriate. Provides physician-prescribed post care instructions to patients. Participates in process improvement activities within radiology practice including but not limited to quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis and patient satisfaction. Provides imaging education to residents, student technologists and new employees. Able to take call/standby as required by the department. May perform the duties of a Radiologic Technologist, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans on patients according to established protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure patient safety by following aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
  • Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate imaging techniques based on clinical indications.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information, scan results, and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in the training of new staff members or interns in CT procedures and protocols.
  • Stay updated on advancements in imaging technology and participate in continuing education opportunities.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols within the imaging department.

Requirements

  • Must have Radiology & CT Tech experience, familiar with Siemens somatom emotions 6 slice and portable x-ray machine Mobile dart and GE
  • Must have Illinois Emergency Management Association (IEMA) certification
  • Must have AART certification in Radiology & CT Tech
  • Must have BLS certification, must be through American Heart Association
  • Must have 2 years recent Radiology & CT experience in a hospital setting
