Job Description
Networks Connect has partnered with MAVPAK to conduct a search for their new VP of Business Operations who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and has proven experience scaling organizations from tens of millions to $100M+. This leader will oversee customer service, procurement, systems, warehousing, fulfillment, and industrial services. They will work directly with the CEO to take operations from good to great—optimizing today’s systems while building the scalable processes and infrastructure needed for rapid, sustainable, and enjoyable growth.

- Operational Leadership & Strategy
- Lead end-to-end operations across customer service, procurement, systems, warehousing, fulfillment, and industrial services.
- Optimize current processes and structures to ensure they perform at a high level today while preparing the organization for future scale.
- Partner with the CEO to design and implement an operational model that can support 20%+ year-over-year growth.
- Systems, Automation & AI
- Evaluate current ERP and systems to determine if optimization can support future growth or if a new ERP designed for B2B distribution is required.
- Drive innovation by applying automation and AI to improve forecasting, streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and elevate the customer experience.
- Build scalable processes and tools that enable efficiency, accuracy, and accountability across the business.
- People & Performance
- Clarify role responsibilities and expectations for every team member, building accountability and alignment.
- Establish and track KPIs at the team and company level to measure progress, drive improvement, and guide decision-making.
- Lead with empathy and respect, fostering a culture of collaboration, positivity, and ownership.
- Growth & Expansion
- Design operational frameworks that enable growth from $35M to $100M while maintaining quality and service excellence.
- Partner with sales and leadership teams to expand Mavpak’s presence across Indiana and beyond.
- Cultivate a customer-focused culture that consistently delivers value in cost, labor, space, and efficiency savings.
- Financial & Performance Management
- Develop and oversee budgets, KPIs, and cost control measures that ensure sustainable profitability.
- Drive operational decisions that balance short-term performance with long-term scalability.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience scaling an entrepreneurial organization from ~$30M to $100M+ in revenue.
- Deep operational expertise in distribution, supply chain, or related industries.
- Track record of designing and implementing scalable systems, including ERP selection and optimization.
- Hands-on leader who is willing to dig in alongside the team while setting strategy and building for the future.
- Relentlessly resourceful problem solver who thrives in fast-paced, growth-focused environments.
- Strong leadership presence that inspires confidence, builds trust, and fosters a culture of accountability, positivity, and collaboration.
Target Achievements: First 6-12 Months
- Leadership & Partnership: Build trust and alignment by partnering directly with the CEO to translate vision into executable strategy. Balance entrepreneurial speed with operational discipline, creating a culture of continuous improvement that is ambitious yet sustainable. Serve as both a trusted advisor to the CEO and an inspiring leader for the operations teams.
- Process Standardization & Role Clarity: Establish standardized workflows and operating procedures across customer service, procurement, warehousing, fulfillment, and industrial services. Clearly define roles and responsibilities to reduce overlap, increase accountability, and enable consistent execution as the company scales.
- KPI Framework & Team Enablement: Build a KPI framework that clearly defines what “winning” looks like for every team and individual. Ensure that KPIs are not just tracked, but communicated in a way that drives daily focus, accountability, and pride in performance. Provide the tools, training, and support the team needs to succeed, creating an environment where people know how to win and are equipped to do it every day.
- Systems, Automation & AI Readiness: Evaluate and optimize existing systems and processes to ensure scalability. Leverage automation and AI to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience. Assess whether the current ERP can scale with growth, and if not, build a thoughtful roadmap for selecting and implementing a new ERP designed for industrial B2B distribution.
