Join a 28‑bed Post‑Partum / Mother‑Baby department dedicated to providing a calming, family‑centered environment that supports maternal recovery and newborn bonding. The unit is part of an independent, not‑for‑profit health system recognized for high‑acuity care, clinical research, and collaborative Centers of Excellence. The Director of Nursing holds 24/7 accountability for clinical practice, patient‑care delivery, personnel development, and financial performance within the Mother‑Baby service line. You will champion evidence‑based nursing standards, drive strategic initiatives, and foster an interdisciplinary culture that elevates patient‑family satisfaction and staff engagement.

Duties

  • Lead, coach, and evaluate unit managers, RNs, and support staff; oversee hiring, performance appraisals, and engagement initiatives.
  • Align unit goals with organizational strategy and champion value‑adding innovations.
  • Advocate for patient safety and a family‑centered care philosophy; resolve patient and physician concerns promptly.
  • Promote a professional‑practice model—encouraging shared governance and staff participation in setting clinical standards.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accrediting‑body regulations (TJC, CDC, OSHA, AHCA, etc.).
  • Manage budgeting, revenue performance, and staffing efficiency while meeting financial targets.
  • Develop, implement, and audit policies, procedures, and clinical protocols to maintain top‑tier outcomes.
  • Monitor quality metrics, lead performance‑improvement projects, and report outcomes to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of acute‑care RN experience plus 3 years in progressive nursing leadership
  • Demonstrated strength in budgeting, strategic planning, and staff development
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows platforms
  • Experience directing Women’s Services, Post‑Partum, or Neonatal units
  • Additional maternal–newborn or leadership certifications (e.g., C‑EFM, NE‑BC)

License / Certification

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — Master’s degree preferred
  • Current Florida RN license and BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
  • Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline
